In response to your article "Alkaline Diet Proof: Scientific Evidence":

There is no “proof” or “evidence” stated here.
Ross may have quoted here various scientific articles which yes, discuss metabolic acidosis. BUT he forgot one key fact. Metabolic acidosis is NOT usually a chronic (there all the time) condition. It is mostly acute (sudden onset, doesn’t last long). In the acute sense, you will be very very ill, with symptoms such as rapid breathing, lethargy and confusion – if untreated shock and death are almost certain. It is possible, but rare, for a state of constant metabolic acidosis to be experienced. However, it is NOT possible whatsoever, for a metabolic acidosis to result from your dietary choices. Nowhere will you find credible, scientific evidence of this.

The idea of the alkaline diet is based on complete nonsense and is fuelled by peoples lack of understanding of how the body actually works and/or basic concepts of science. Anyone considering this diet, know that you are being misled and taught 'facts' which are not based on anything real at all.
No one is denying the the fact that eating a diet consisting of healthy, fresh food (yes, everything you advocate eating within the alkaline diet) but the fact that you are actually encouraging people to "try not to get too caught up in the science of it all" is plain ignorant and morally wrong on so many levels.
Scientists (and under this broad umbrella I include all sorts of health experts such as dieticians, nutritionists, doctors, nurses, exercise scientists, etc - not just your idea of a scientist as someone in a lab playing with chemicals in their white coat) have dedicated their lives to providing an insight into the world we live in and how our bodies work - it is ridiculous that someone armed only with a misinformed opinion, a keyboard, and no education on the matter thinks that they have any right whatsoever to try and advise people on anything other that the facts, and further, to attempt to discredit those who have made it possible for us to know these amazing things about how our bodies work.
Ross, I would be very interested to know what training you have in science/health/medicine, that is, aside from being "the alkaline guy"?
